Cabin Essentials: Days On The Dock

When it's summer on Lake of the Woods, there's nothing better than a day down by the water. Making sure your cabin has the right dock design is essential to making the most of your sunny, summer days.

When you think of a dock, the first image that probably comes to mind is a long, narrow structure to tie your boat to. However, that design may do more harm than good when it comes to getting your whole family down to the shoreline. In the below example, the dock is attached to a massive deck area that's perfect for barbecuing, drinks, or even a full-on family dinner.
There are of course different and equally creative approaches that'll help you stay down by the water for even longer. A scaled down design like the one below has a built in shelter (and industrial heat lamp!) for rainy days and cool evenings. That means less time indoors, and more time hanging out by the lake.
