Relaxing at the Lake: Home Theatres

How do you like to relax at your cottage? Everybody is a little different, but one consistent we find is having a room to enjoy movies and music.

The above picture is of a home theatre room designed by BlackFox Construction at Lake of the Woods, Ontario.

The above home theatre is designed to look like the marriage of an early 1900’s mine shaft with a theatre of the same era. It has big wood beams overhead and a rock wall in the rear. Movie posters and lights reflect the combined theme. And various antiques have been added that also depict the mining and movie theme. The TNT blaster next to the couch is rigged as a functional light dimmer just to add a creative element. The walls and ceiling have been built to encompass acoustical standards. This includes double offset studding to minimize noise transfer. The sound in the room is theatre quality and barely a whisper can be heard in the rest of the house during the loudest movies.

This home theatre is multifunctional. It is a great social space with a bar, sauna, work out room and fireplace nearby. As well as a quality home theatre using the latest wireless sound technology supplied by Donnie B’s.
