With the boathouse coming along nicely through the summer, it was time to find a way to connect the second story entertaining space to the rest of the cabin. We wanted a solid steel base to work with, but the walkway was going to span such a large gap that we needed to call in reinforcements.
Although the cost to rent a crane may seem steep now, it is far more effective in the long run for both time and money. Now that the steel is down, the completed walkway (and boathouse!) shouldn't be too far behind.
