Seeing The Light: Chandeliers

Even if you're primarily using your cabin on Lake of the Woods as a rustic retreat, adding a few refined elements can let you home go from from dockside to dinner party in no time.

There are a few ways to have your cottage make a lasting impression on your guests, no matter its size. As we've explored previously, a sloped A-frame ceiling is not only beautiful, it also allows ample room for oversized windows and tons of sunlight.

By that same measure, a vaulted ceiling also offers the required room for a chandelier worthy of being called a true focal point. In the above example, the homeowners have even added an eye-catching fixture to their gazebo for late nights on the lake.
If you're not shooting for a chandelier that makes a splash, many owners and builders opt to go for a subtler approach that allows the great room to speak for itself.
